Creamy Whites
Today I'm loving creamy whites - think vintage lace, clotted cream, vanilla slices, creme anglaise, ivory silk wedding gowns, ruffled petticoats, buttercream frosting and creamy coloured table linens. Cream is so warm and inviting - it's also a calm, soothing colour encouraging rest, calm and serenity. Depending on the details it can look bot sophisticated and elegant or rustic and charming!

A Lick of Green Paint
I think there's nothing much a lick of paint can't fix round the house. Rusty, metal outdoor furniture or shabby timber tables, chairs and shutters can have a whole new lease of life with a coat of paint. I have often found old neglected vintage pieces at markets and garage sales but with a little bit of TLC from my handyman husband and a fresh coat of paint they come up looking as good as new!

Dining In Style
For me one of the most important elements of a country house is the dining table. It would have to be a huge table where friends and family can gather for Sunday lunches and special occasions. I have always loved the though of a rustic, recycled farmhouse table that has character and warmth.There's a mix of Scandinavian and French Provincial influences here but any one of these dining tables would be just perfect!
