Shades of Violet

What a peaceful, calming colour violet is. It's really surprising when you take a walk around the garden how many plants have pretty violet flowers or purple tinged foliage. Nothing is prettier in the garden than a pergola or an arbor dripping with wisteria or a flowering Jacranda tree. I also love violets, there so sweet and delicate. This weekend I might set up a table in the garden with an old fashioned lace tablecloth, vintage china, posies of violets and cup cakes decorated with  a single violet flower.

An Afternoon By The Lake

 

There's nothing more re-juvenating than an afternoon relaxing by a lake. I like to pack a yummy picnic basket full of the kids' favourite lunchtime treats - hot chicken schnitzel rolls, mini quiches and a batch of home made biscuits straight out of the oven. There's always a long walk and a swim on the agenda, usually there are ducks to feed, stones to skip and if we're lucky we can hire some canoes so we can really go exploring.

Carefree Days

 

 I am making the most of the last of warm, carefree, sunny days

by spending as much time outdoors as possible.

It's all about having fun, being relaxed and soaking up the sunshine.

It's a chance for the kids to run around, laugh and play.

We're going to make every day count!
