A Trip to Provence
Vicki Archer's home from "My French Life'
I have very fond memories of Provence all of which came flooding back after recently reading Vicki Archer's beautiful book 'My French Life'. I love everything about Provence ~ from the fields of lavender and sunflowers to it's vine covered rolling hills and olive groves. I love the charm of the villages with their cobbled streets, narrow alleys, shady plane trees and crumbling buildings with their blue timber shutters. The markets are full of colour and vibrancy - the smell of freshly baked bread, dried lavender and handmade soap to tempt you. Your trip will be well rewarded with local wine, olives and honey, fresh herbs and creamy cheeses. The colours of Provence are also intoxicating, there are splashes of purple, blue and yellow everywhere you look. If you don't have a trip to Provence planned in the near future then pick up a copy of one of Vicky Archer's books and let your imagination wander!

Heavenly Blue
Today I'm loving pretty shades of powdery blue.
Combined with whites, soft greys or neutrals
it's a perfect colour scheme for a country house.
A colour that works beautifully for
decor, accessories, table settings and flowers.
Eternally fresh, calming and soothing on the eye!

Spring Daze
Today I'm celebrating all things pretty and springlike ~
warm sunshine on bare skin
dappled sunlight filtered through large, shady trees
a hammock slung between two trees and a good book
pretty dresses and strappy sandals
flowing hair glowing in the sunlight.
Enjoy the little things your day brings!

Shades of Peppermint
This muted shade of peppermint green
is perfect for country style decorating.
It is soft, soothing and calming ~
helping to soften the lines between inside and out.
It is an easy colour to live with
and works beautifully with vintage and rustic pieces.
