Bright Country Colour

 

Loving this bright colourful inspiration as we head into the weekend.
I have lovely plans for baking, catching up with friends, the family for Sunday lunch,
long walks and a drive in the country to our favourite Devonshire tea spot!

Scandinavian Country Style

When I first start blogging - I came across a number of very talented Scandinavian blogs. I fell in love with their simple, clean design lines and their very defined colour palette of white on white with highlights in grey, beige and taupe. When they use colour it is restrained and muted. Their preferred fabrics are natural and textured - namely wool, cotton and linen with lots of white painted timber. A little bit 'Shabby Chic' in style but with a modern twist. Here are a few images from a couple of great blogs that personify Scandavian style for me - 'Modern Country' and 'Min Lilla Veranda'.

Simply Natural

My design ethos is one of mixing different styles and eras, but it has to be done in a gentle and sympathetic manner so the scheme doesn't clash or jar. When mixing different design influences and periods the overall effect needs to be balanced and harmonious. I love mixing vintage, with shabby chic, French provincial and Scandinavian styles. I may even throw in a bit of industrial chic into the mix to keep it interesting!

FLOWERS CAN BRING JOY CAN FILL A ROOM 

WITH COLOUR AND FRAGRANCE... 

and symbolise love, friendships, happiness and healing. 

Different scents can evoke memories of an important occasion, a special day,

a romance and a lasting friendship.

They smell divine and have wonderful effects on us emotionally and have amazing benefits to our skin including properties such as healing, soothing and rejuvenation.

It's always hard after a lovely relaxing weekend to get back into work mode ~
