Golf Glamour

This weekend I am accompanying my husband on a trip to the country for a golfing weekend. Although I'm a sporty kind of girl - I have never been into golf but this weekend all of that is going to change. I am going to hire a set of clubs and give it a go. If I'm hopeless or if I lose interest then you'll find me in the clubhouse reading the latest Vogue, sipping on a Chardonnay!!

A Country Style Kitchen

Ever since I was a little girl, I have wanted to have a country kitchen - with a big rustic farmhouse table in the middle of the room. I had visions of me baking all day long - just like my grandma used to do. I still have many fond memories of licking bowls, sneaking cookies off the cooling rack and delicious smells wafting from the kitchen!

Industrial Chic

I love interiors that excite the imagination and surprise us. I like unexpected elements in the mix - one off pieces that you won't see elsewhere. That's why I am so passionate about vintage and antique pieces because they are unique and individual. Another interesting element that you can add to your scheme is industrial bric-a-brac ~ think warehouse lighting, recycled factory tables and benches, old wooden school desks and vintage signage - these will all do wonders to add character and charm to your home.

Go Green - Save the Planet!

'Vintage Chic' style 

As an interior designer, I have a love and appreciation of many different styles but over and over again I am attracted to vintage style. Whether you call it 'Vintage Chic Style', junk yard, garage sale or flea market style there is no doubt that second-hand is fashionably chic and having it's moment right now. Great news, for those on a budget who have a little style and plenty of imagination. Since the world has realized that recycling and reusing is not only responsible but a necessity for the sake of the planet - the idea of surrounding yourself with second hand furniture and pre-loved objects is as fashionable as the latest Paris catwalk shows!

Sweet Endings

 

I love flicking though 'foodie magazines' and cookbooks and I couldn't be happier than spending an afternoon in the kitchen cooking up a storm for family and friends. My family loves their food and they have a great appreciation for a home cooked meal, especially if it's something new and different. I love entertaining and enjoy everything from the planning to the table settings, to the music and flowers. I'm just as happy with an intimate dinner for six as I am with casual buffet for friends or a barbeque for the entire street! I am a great believer that good food brings people together!
