Finders Keepers

 

I love hunting around second hand shops, antique markets and garage sales on the lookout for buried treasures looking for a new home and a new life! Being a designer I think I have a pretty good eye for finding the jewels amongst the junk. Lately I have had a lot of luck finding some great pieces from ex-display house furniture and ex-furniture rentals. My two latest finds were a New York stye shelving unit and a velvet chaise for my new hobby room. They were both as new but the prices were fantastic. I was actually on the lookout for clients but came home with a boot load of goodies for myself ~ feeling as pleased as punch!

Milk & Honey

Weekend Pleasures

After a hectic week at work
I am looking forward to a quiet, relaxing weekend.
I am planning on making the most of the simple pleasures in life like ~
English Breakfast tea with honey and crumpets
whipping up a batch of homemade savoury muffins
time to read my new book 
stopping by the florist for a bunch of flowers
and coffee and cake at my favourite café

Shabby Chic Romance

 

 

One of the first interior design books I ever bought was 'Shabby Chic'. I was in my early twenties and I had just moved out of home. I also moved to the other side of the world and I picked up a copy at Harrods in London where I worked. I was totally enamoured by the pretty pastels, slip covered furniture, faded roses, crumpled bedlinen and floral china. I was in love with the romance and prettiness of it all. Rachel Ashwell paved the way for a whole new decorating style. Here is a stay-at-home mum who has beautifully re-created and captured Rachel's romantic style so I thought I would share it with you.

Weekend Pyjama Party

 

 

 

Loving this idea of a girl's weekend away in the country.

Just hanging out in your pj's
laughing, giggling, catching up on the gossip 
cups of tea, chocolates and sweet treats by day
French champagne and more chocolates at night.
Totally decadent and indulgent!!

How much fun would that be!
