Lavender Dreams

 

 

It's been a busy week with client shopping, architect's meeting and re-arranging all the rooms in my house as well as planning a future renovation for my own home. So today I am feeling a bit creatively burnt out and in need of some R and R. I need to re-charge my batteries so I have promised myself to catch up on some sleep, fill my lungs with fresh air, go for a long walk, eat 3 healthy meals, drink only herbal tea and catch up some reading then tomorrow I will be ready to face the world again!

A Pefect Weekend

 

I have lovely plans for the weekend ....

nothing too exciting

but plenty of time to relax and enjoy the simple things in life like:~

time to spend in the kitchen baking

french cheese and good wine

leisurely breakfasts with homemade bircher museli

long lunches with friends

some creative downtime in my studio

and some time to catch up on a few chores round the house.

A Passion for Provence

 

I have friends heading off to a villa in Provence for a holiday ..... and I'm soooo jealous. I wish they could squeeze me into their suitcase! I would love to be waking up in Provence in a villa perched high on a hill surrounded by vineyards, olive groves and fields of sunflowers. I would dine on freshly baked bread, cheese and olives ~ washing it all down with a glass or two of the local wine. I would shop at the markets, picnic under the pencil pines and explore the local villages on bicycle. But sadly I will have to content myself with living my dream vacation through their photos and travel adventures!

Country Brights

 

Loving these bright and festive colours - perfect for an alfresco party!

I love the random mix of bright flowers, glassware, colours and patterns. The brightly patterned cushions and placemats add to the casual, relaxed and personal feel of this table setting. It looks like someone has put a lot of love and thought into creating this fun and inspirational tablescape. I would love to be on the guest list!

Chocolate Cravings

 

Yesterday I was out and about shopping for clients. I was on the hunt looking for interesting bits and pieces for a display home. I was hoping to find a few interesting accessories to set this display home apart from the rest. I wanted something that would catch peoples' imagination so they would remember their visit. I was looking for a few vintage pieces and some industrial chic to mix in with modern furniture. By mid afternoon I was exhausted and frustrated when I spied a Lindt chocolate shop and café. So I slipped into a comfy chair and indulged in a rich and creamy hot chocolate and a chocolate tartlettte. It was just what I needed - a sugar fix and a chance to rest my weary feet and collect my thoughts. As soon as I hit the shops again everything came together and I finished off the day with a boot load of goodies!
