I heart Sundays

 I love lazy Sundays:-

there is nothing nicer than waking up late,

skimming through the Sunday magazines

whilst having a leisurely breakfast in bed.

Afternoons are spent catching up with friends and family,

chatting over tea and scones or dainty macarons.

Cherry Blossom Pink

 

 

Pink is my favourite colour - so I am loving this burst of bright fuchsia pink. Whenever I see pink whether it be flowers, furnishing, clothes, make-up or even a bicycle my eyes light up, my heart skips a beat and I'm instantly lusting after it. I am passionate about all colours but for me pink is that extra bit special!

Earthy Tones

 

 

 

When it comes to country style, I love earthy tones and natural textures - nothing too slick and polished. Rustic timbers, recycled floorboards, stacked firewood and chocolate finishes all come to mind. Fabrics are robust and hard wearing like wool, cotton and linen and rugs are warm and chunky - perfect for a fireside cup of coffee and some freshly baked goodies!

Gardening Style

I have upped the anti in the gardening fashion stakes and bought myself a new pair of gumboots. Now don't get too excited I am not talking Hunter, Burberry or Chanel all of which I would love to own but couldn't possibly justify the cost. However, I did buy a colourful floral pair from Bunnings that are very chic and stylish for a bit of backyard gardening!

Exposed Timber Beams

 

One of the things I love about country houses are exposed timber beams and recycled timbers. I have a ceiling beam running through my place and white painted timber ceiling lining boards. Both of these elements add so much warmth and personalty to the house. The lining boards were originally in natural pine so it was a big decision to paint them out but the end result was fantastic. Half way through I wish I'd never started but in the end it was was well worth the back breaking work and the 3 coats of paint!

Pink & Berry Crush

 

 

 

What a beautiful mix of colours:-

pale pink, lavender, purple, cerise and white
all set off beautiful by flashes glossy green foliage and green satin bows.
What an interesting collection of vases, bottles and vessels
... but it's that hat box that takes the cake!
These colours are a perfect combination to
brighten up the house or dress up a table!
