April Showers

It has been pouring with rain lately and the garden is loving it. It's lush and green and growing like crazy. The kids are having a load of fun stomping through puddles in brightly coloured gumboots {wellingtons}, however I'm not so enthusiastic because every time I come in from outdoors I look like a drowned rat! I must take a cue from these gorgeous pics and tie a scarf round my head next time I leave the house!

A Pop of Colour

Today I am loving this energetic splash of colour.
 It's happy, uplifting and gives these spaces an unexpected twist.
That aqua painted timber table makes for a very pretty, romantic setting
- perfect for a Sunday lunch or afternoon  tea.

Shabby Chic Inspiration

 

 

Today I'm in search of little bit of Shabby Chic inspiration. One of my latest projects is decorating a gorgeous, white weatherboard cottage. It's a cross between Shabby Chic and something out of the Hamptons so it's going to be a really fun project. It is a very large house and the clients are refurnishing it from top to bottom. I've starting putting mood boards together and Rachel Ashwell is the first place I've turned to for inspiration.

Vintage Style Party

I am looking forward to the weekend and I've been looking out for some inspiration for having the in-laws over for afternoon tea. This vintage style tea party with it's dainty china teacups in pastel shades is as pretty as a picture. What a tempting array of treats from iced cookies to frosted cupcakes and mini lemon merignue pies! The country style trestle table adds a nice rustic touch as do the delicate single blooms in assorted jars and vases. It's a table setting full of character and old fashioned country charm!

Healthy Living

One of the thing that attracts me most about country life is the healthy lifestyle and good wholesome food. I love the idea of fresh vegies picked straight from the vegie patch and fruit picked straight from the tree. I would love to have a whole orchard of fruit trees. On the top of my list would be a lemon tree along with apricots, plums, nectarines, peaches and apples. Thinks of all the pies and jams I could make! I would also have chickens so that every morning I would wake up to freshly laid eggs!
