Alfresco Lunch In Provence

 

Wishing I was here right now!

Basking in the sunshine in the French countryside
surrounded by vines, olive trees  
rolling hills and pretty country villages.

Sitting at a table in the garden

laden with fresh local produce.

Nothing beats a cheese platter, some crusty bread

and a glass of chilled wine

on a warm Spring day!

Living In Provence

We just bought a wonderful beach house

previously owned by an English stockbroker.

He spent the summer in Australia

living in by the beach and the aussie winters were spent

living in the warm summer months in Provence.

If only we could afford the same lifestyle!

C'est tres jolie!

I love this chic French style.

When I bought my first apartment in my thirties

this is the style I decorated it in.

It was all chandeliers, gilded mirrors,

beige velvet sofas and French antiques.

It was so lovely and feminine.

A Trip To The Country

 

Weekend Escape

This weekend we are planning an adventure in the country.

There will be long walks through the forest

bicycle rides around the local village

cappuccinos and cakes at quaint cafes

art galleries and antique shops to explore.

Provincial Charm

Feeling inspired by happy memories of dining and picnics in Provence ~

I think I will serve up a rustic Provincial style Sunday lunch
with French cheeses and wine, homemade bread and a hearty French cassoulet.

the comfortable lived- in feel
the warm, cosy atmosphere

French Cream

These delicate shades of cream and latte are totally delicious!

Cream always makes for a warm and inviting colour scheme

It's soft tone works beautifully in period and traditional country homes,

where white can be too cold and stark.

Layering different shades of cream, ivory and beige

makes for a lovely rich palette.
