An Afternoon By The Lake

 

There's nothing more re-juvenating than an afternoon relaxing by a lake. I like to pack a yummy picnic basket full of the kids' favourite lunchtime treats - hot chicken schnitzel rolls, mini quiches and a batch of home made biscuits straight out of the oven. There's always a long walk and a swim on the agenda, usually there are ducks to feed, stones to skip and if we're lucky we can hire some canoes so we can really go exploring.

Lakeside Retreat

 

With the weekend looming ahead it's time to escape and get some fresh air and exercise. I grew up camping and waterskiing on a lake's edge so these photos remind me of my childhood days - barefoot and carefree, swimming, boating, fishing and generally running amuck. I love the lifestyle that comes with living by a lake, a river or the ocean. There are plenty of opportunities to get outdoors and lead a healthy lifestyle.
